OUR APPROACH
At Centre des Noyers, the child is the priority and at the heart of everything. A child must feel safe—physically, emotionally, and psychologically—to develop their potential.
Without safety, there is no learning, and the child cannot open up or connect with the world.
At the centre, we pay close attention to each child’s well-being and create a program tailored to them.
Children are welcomed in two complementary spaces:
A space that encourages positive behavior and socialization
A space dedicated to educational development and learning
Safety is the foundation of well-being and learning.
Findings & Current Practices
At school (around age 3), difficulties are identified and remediation is set up (assessments, sessions) with specialists: psychomotor therapist, speech therapist, educators… The child is sent to a social skills group.
Observed effects:
- Language delay, stigma, too many people → overload.
- Withdrawal, developmental delay.
Conclusion: lack of safety for the child (physical, emotional, psychological).
Our Step-by-Step Approach
1) Child at the center → start with safety:
- Physical, emotional, and psychological safety.
- This builds self-confidence, then trust in others.
2) Pairing (stable one-to-one relationship):
- With an adult, a child, or an animal (mediation).
3) Gradual opening to group settings (1→3/4/6):
- Differentiated school, mainstream school, or other groups depending on the level of safety reached.
Principle: safety is the foundation of well-being and learning.
